During the spring semester, the students in visiting assistant professor of history Sean Gilsdorf's seminar, "God Save the Queen! Female Rulership in the Middle Ages," have been exploring the complex and sometimes contradictory intersection between gender, power, and image in medieval Europe through the key figure of the queen. In this conference, the students will share their research on medieval queenship, offering a broad range of disciplinary, historical, and theoretical perspectives on the topic.
