What does feminism mean to women artists today? Does it still make sense to talk about art by women as a distinct category? How does the work of women artists reflect contemporary concerns? This lecture by Eleanor Heartney is based on The Reckoning: Women Artists of the New Millennium, a book published this fall that considers the work of a select group of women artists born after 1960.

Heartney is a New-York-based art writer and cultural critic. She has been a contributing editor to Art in America and Artpress and has written extensively on contemporary art issues for multiple publications including Artnews, the Washington Post, and the New York Times.
